You Wait Ages for a New Soapbox Race...

...and then two come along at once!

Hot on the heels of the announcement of Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme is the news that another new soapbox race is to be added to the UK calendar, and this one is in Scotland too. "Border Bogie Race" will be held on 23rd May in Denholm in the Scottish Borders. The course is approximately 2/3rds of a mile in length, and is "quite a good gradient ... 30 to 40 mph stuff". Provisional Date Set for "Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme"

Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme25th and 26th July 2009 have been set as the provisional confirmed as the dates for the newest addition to the UK Soapbox Racing Calendar - Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme.

This new event aims to be a spectacular showcase of the very best in soapbox racing. It will be held over two days and will include practice runs, timed qualifying, and head to head racing in group races and finals. The course is two miles long and, with an average gradient of 1 in 14, is likely to see competitors reaching speeds in excess of 50 mph.
